The road to CPMS certificationDo you want to provide a long-term structure to the quality and efficiency of your management by becoming CPMS certified? A brief description of what steps to take to do this is provided below. In the first instance it is important you are familiar with what ‘working according to CiEP” means and that you are applying the CiEP vision and method in your daily life. Next you set up a personal management system that meets the CPMA system criteria. With the aid of this personal management system you then anchor the CiEP method sustainably into your current method of working. The construction of your personal management system consists for instance of formulating personal intentions and desired results and learn and implementing the CiEP planning criteria, CiEP workplace criteria and CiEP communications criteria. You then integrate the CiEP principles in your personal work process, you ensure the necessary conditions and resources are in place to realize your results, you make your personal results fields and work agreements visible and bring the (digital) documents and records you use clearly into view. In addition you set up a system for weekly and six-monthly self-evaluation and you think up a method for investigating the satisfaction of your stakeholders. You will also get insights into you can make bottlenecks and points for development visible and how from that you can then introduce continuously improvements and see progress occurring.
You can do this as an organization on your own or with the support of a CPMS consultant. He/she will generally first carry out a zero measurement to get an insight into how “CiEP’ you already are and which specific points for attention there are when setting up and implementing your CiEP Personal Management System. Next, you work together with the CPMS consultant, systematically and determinedly on establishing and implementing your personal management system.
When you have established your management system or nearly completed it, you can submit your certification application to a certifying body. Then the certifying body will conduct a certification audit, to test how well your personal management system meets the standard.
If the findings of the certifying body are positive then you will receive the CPMS certificate and can from then on call yourself ‘CPMS certified’. You make a certification agreement for three years with the certifying body, in which you will be evaluated each year for conformity with the CPMS Standard. At the end of that time you can again conclude a certification agreement for three years, with which the continuity of your personal management system is supported for a long period. |
